Annemarie E. Ward
Annemarie E. Ward is a passionate and relentless criminal defense attorney who has dedicated her career to advocating for individuals whose voices are often unheard in the justice system.
Annemarie was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Central High School (264). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Temple University in 2009, graduating with distinction in her major.
In 2015, Annemarie began her legal education at Delaware Law School at Widener University. During law school, she was deeply involved in student organizations and pro bono initiatives. She honed her trial advocacy skills as a competitive member of the Phi Alpha Delta Trial Team, the Moe Levine Trial Team, and the Moot Court Honor Society. She also served as Justice of the George Read Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International and was elected Vice President of Student and Alumni Relations for the Student Bar Association. Annemarie graduated Cum Laude in 2018 with her Juris Doctor, earning pro bono distinction.
While in law school, Annemarie interned with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. She also had the opportunity to work with the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project in Philadelphia (YSRP), where she had the privilege of helping one of the many juvenile lifers be re-sentenced following the Miller and Montgomery decisions. During her time with YSRP she was trained in mitigation and gained insight into the other side of the Justice system. From then on it became her passion to fight for the rights of people who may not have the power or privilege to speak up for themselves. Her primary area of practice is criminal law.
Annemarie joined Keller, Lisgar & Williams during her law school years and is now a valued member of their trial team. She practices throughout Delaware, Philadelphia, Chester, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties, specializing in:
