Wrongful Death

Losing a loved one because of someone else’s negligence is one of life’s most devastating experiences. A wrongful death occurs when another person, business, or entity causes a death through negligent, reckless, or intentional conduct. Wrongful Death and Survival Acts allow certain family members — typically the spouse, children, or parents — to seek justice and compensation for the financial and emotional losses caused by a wrongful death. Before pursuing a claim, an Estate must usually be opened, and a personal representative or Administrator appointed by the Orphans’ Court or Register of Wills.
