Steven R. Koense is a veteran family law attorney with more than 25 years of experience representing clients in divorce, custody, support, and Protection from Abuse matters throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. As Senior Associate at Keller, Lisgar & Williams, LLP, he brings seasoned judgment, strategic insight, and unwavering advocacy to every case. Mr. Koense regularly appears before the Courts of Common Pleas in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties, and mentors the firm’s newer attorneys in litigation practice and client relations.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Koense held senior positions with Potts, Shoemaker & Grossman and Schoenfeld, Surkin, Chupein & DeMis, and began his career at Dozor, Auslander & Stein. He earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in 1997, where he served as a certified legal intern and received the Dean Arthur A. Weeks Award for excellence in legal scholarship and service. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Delaware.

A respected voice in the family law community, Mr. Koense has lectured for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Delaware County Bench Bar Conference, and the Women’s Resource Center. He remains actively involved in professional development and mentorship through the Delaware County Bar Association and the Doris Jonas Freed Inn of Court.
