Darryl W. Shorter Background / History

Darryl Wayne Shorter grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina where he attended North Carolina State University, achieving a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1994. Thereafter, he worked as an engineer with GPU Energy, Reading, PA and PECO Energy, Philadelphia, PA. While working at PECO, Darryl attended Temple University School of Law to earn his Juris Doctorate. In 2001, he passed the bars in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Darryl has always been passionate about ensuring that everyone, regardless of status, be provided with the same opportunities under the law. This passion has driven him to zealously pursue favorable outcomes for his clients, while also protecting their interests.

As a practicing attorney for more than 15 years, Darryl has worked in large and small general practices and boutique law firms. He also owned and operated his own business in the sports licensing industry. He has vast experience in intellectual property, including preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent and trademark applications, IP licensing, and assisting in the development, training, and maintenance of client’s intellectual property programs. He has recently developed a passion for litigation and has expanded his practice to include the following legal matters:

Darryl is married with three children who are active in sports and the community. He enjoys reading, playing golf, and competing in triathlons. In 2012, Darryl was an IRONMAN finisher of Louisville, KY.

Darryl W. Shorter is a member of the Pennsylvania and Delaware County Bar Associations, and the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. He is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (2001) and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania (2001), North Carolina, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As a member of the local bar association, he sits as an arbitrator several times per year hearing cases and rendering awards.
